Emile Anthony Geraci
Emile Anthony Geraci passed away on Tuesday, February 20th at the age of 87. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Gretna, LA for the last 25 years. He was known as "Greek" to family, friends, and associates.
He was the beloved son of Emile Peter Geraci and Laura Delaney Geraci. He is predeceased by his parents, his son, Steven Geraci, and his life-long friend and brother-in-law, Ed Windstein. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Geraci Hurley (Ronnie), his adopted daughter, Lori Geraci, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Geraci Windstein and Valerie Geraci Daigle, as well as several close nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Sam and Judy Manzella.
Greek was a decorated United States Marine Corps veteran. He served with the 1st Marine Division in the Korean Conflict. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many weekends "at the camp" with family and friends.
He was a member of the American Legion, the 1st Marine Division Association, New Orleans Chapter, the Paul E. Boyd Attachment-Marine Corps League, and the Fleet Reserve Association (USMC). Many thanks to V.A. Palliative Care and Canon Hospice staff for making his last days as comfortable as possible. Funeral services will be private.
