Kenneth Mehlig Kirst

2014, at the age of 83. He was a native of New Orleans, born on October 21, 1930 to the late Raymond M. and Edna (Llorens) Kirst. He was married to Aurora (De La Cruz) Kirst for 54 years. 

He graduated from Warren Easton High School and served as a Marine during the Korean War. Kenny owned a Ship Chandler business together with his father as Raymond M. Kirst & Sons. 

He was active in several organizations over the years: NO Athletic Club, Traffic Club of NOLA, Krewe of Atlas, Member Marine Corp League Detachment #579 and St. Francis Xavier Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Aurora, daughters; Karyn Finn (Kevin), Kristy Vicknair and Kerri Johnson (Eric); grandchildren- Juliann, Ryan and Carmen Finn; Brittany Strehle, Alexandra Strehle and Rebecca Vicknair; Adrian and Lauren Johnson; great-grandchildren- Layla and Abigail. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Russell R.Kirst. Relatives and family are invited to a Military Committal Service @ Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell, 11am Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
