Kober Seippel

NOVEMBER 30, 1926 – JULY 13, 2011

Kober Seippel passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2011 at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband, for 54 years of the late Mary Lawrence Knobloch Seippel. Loving father of Laurie E. Seippel, Michael G. Seippel (Sharon) and Casey P. Seippel (Charlotte). Grandfather of Brad, Amanda, Michele and Craig Seippel. He is also the adoptive grandfather of Michael and Michelle Nair. Kober is preceded in death by his parents George and Alma Kober Seippel, as well as his mother and father-in-law Lawrence and Bessie Cassidy Knobloch. Kober is survived by nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Kimberly and Arthur. 

Kober worked in the hardware industry traveling the Gulf Coast Region and as an owner and vice president of the John T. Evertte Corp. He was the recipient of numerous awards in his industry. 

Serving his country in WWII and Korea as a Marine was one of the greatest honors of his life. Kober is a member of the First Marine Division, former Marine of the Year and a member, trustee and past officer of the Paul Boyd Detachment of the Marine Corps League. His true passion was his service and involvement in the Paul Boyd Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Kober worked tirelessly in every capacity with this group. An avid lover of the Saints, Kober was also a member of the MGTS and the Horseless Carriage Club. 
Kober was an extraordinary man. His friends were from all walks of life and he loved them all. He always had a joke to make you laugh and a huge smile. He will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of his life to be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie.
