After his service in the military, he worked for and retired from LP&L (now Entergy). In his retirement, he enjoyed numerous fishing trips with family on his boat. He also enjoyed time with his buddies at the boat launch and frequenting the restaurant, II Tony's, as well as couch-coaching his favorite NFL team, the New Orleans Saints. Regardless of who was playing and what sport, Lloyd always had a game on. "Did you eat?" were the first words out of Lloyd's mouth anytime his family walked through the door. Even if your answer was "yes", food was already prepared. With his Cajun roots and long line of family recipes cooking on the stove, the food was never turned down. Lloyd was a parishioner of Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church, and an adorer at the Chapel. Additionally, he was a proud member of various organizations such as the NRA, the VFW, and the Korean War Veterans Association.

He is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Roland, Charles Jr., and Raymond Delaune; Dorothy Dwyer, Jeanne Boudreaux, and Alberta Bergeron. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Simoneaux Delaune; his three daughters Donna, Debbie, and Diana (Jamey); three grandchildren Bevin Bickham (Joseph), Jennifer Columbia, and Alcee; and two great-grandchildren Jacob and Jolie.
