Claude Thomas Michel Jr.
Claude (Jack) Thomas Michel Jr. passed away on Saturday August 5, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1931 in New Orleans to Claude Thomas Michel Sr. and Selina Pitre Michel.
After graduating from St Aloysius in 1948 he then enlisted in the Navy serving as Radarman on the USS Lewis Hancock during the Korean Conflict. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1954, he enrolled at the Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette where he achieved a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
On August 30, 1958 he married Carole Ann Mossy and they were blessed with 55 years together until her death in 2013. Brother of John Michael Michel and the late Paul Michel. Brother-in-law to Diane Prejean Michel, Renée Dessommes Bowz, and Albert Bowz. Father of Renée Michel Giraldo, Claude Michel III, and Stephen Michel; father-in-law to Linda Choina Michel and Carlos Giraldo. Grandfather of Theresa Michel, Claude Michel IV, Gabriel Giraldo, and Victor Giraldo. Great-grandfather of Malayna Lynn Michel, Isabella Renée Giraldo, and Annalise Thérèse Giraldo.
He was an avid hunter and reader and will be remembered as a devoted friend to many. He was a parishioner of Saint Louis King of France in Metairie.
